About The Event
In this class, students will forge their own knife in the Brut de Forge style with a forged-in guard! The goal for the class is to forge, rough grind the profile & blade bevels, harden, temper, and finish a Brut de Forge knife with handle. This class is for Seasoned Beginner level smiths and up (recommended that students have some previous knife forging experience). Students will learn the forging progression and techniques needed to arrive at a beautiful Brut de Forge knife, including Heat Treatment, Grinding, recommended Jigs, Handle creation/finishing, and more! This will be a ton of fun and I can't wait to see some awesome knives!
"Seasoned Beginner"- Some previous experience forging, blacksmithing and/or Bladesmithing recommended. Completing a Basic Bladesmithing class can be helpful but not required. Any questions please contact Ed Clarke.
