About The Event
Skill Level: Beginner and Up (A "Beginner" has had no bladesmithing or blacksmithing experience)
In this Basic Bladesmith Class, students will learn to Forge, Rough Grind, Heat Treat, Finish Grind, and Sharpen a Full Tang Knife. Knife will be finished with a cord-wrapped handle, however, if time allows we will make every effort to add a wood handle. All aspects of the knife will be forged. This class is for the serious Bladesmith with little to no experience, but can be enjoyed by experienced smiths as well. All steps of the process will be covered, with tips and info resources. Students must bring their own PPE (personal protection equipment, including Safety Glasses, Welding Gloves, Hearing Protection, and Respirator).
